BSO ANNOUNCES NEW POP IN EQUINIX SY1 SYDNEY

Single point of access to low-latency, diverse routes in the APAC region.

We’re proud to announce that we have installed a new POP (point of presence) in Equinix’s SY1 data centre in Sydney, Australia. SY1 is part of Equinix’s Data Centre Campus in Sydney – the most interconnected group of data centres in Australia.

As one of Australia’s most network-dense sites and the location of the Equinix Cloud Exchange™ in Sydney, Equinix SY1 provides global peering and interconnectivity opportunities that support a thriving cloud and IT ecosystem.

SY1 is strategically located in the Sydney suburb of Mascot, about 6km south of the Central Business District, adjacent to Equinix SY2 and within walking distance of other Sydney data centres.

Within the new POP, BSO offers a range of connectivity, hosting and managed solutions designed to meet the inter-continental connectivity and hosting requirements of digital enterprise, the online gaming community, and financial organisations in Australia.

Sydney is the major point of access in the APAC region to key cities around the world, including Tokyo, Chicago, Hong Kong and Singapore. BSO offers some of the lowest latencies available on the market between these locations:

Sydney <> Tokyo 101ms RTD*

Sydney <> Chicago 181ms RTD*

Sydney <> Hong Kong 111ms RTD*

Sydney <> Singapore 89ms RTD*

*please note, figures are correct as of publish date 25/04/17

Australia is set to experience a period of significant growth towards network infrastructure. According to predictions from The Australian Business Review, analyst house Telsyte predicts 50 per cent of Australian enterprises intend to increase spending on cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) in 2017.

In addition, IT departments are predicted to become the ‘data heros’ of future business, empowering companies to make data-driven decisions by providing critical data.

This will undoubtedly incite the need for state-of-the-art technology to support long-term business strategy.

If you would like to find out more about the range of services available in Sydney, please get in touch with us and we’d be glad to talk to you about how our technology can support your business.
